Soccer Stud!

Saturday the boys had soccer again (until the middle of May actually.)  Jeff was gone to a county Bench Bar conference so we headed out to the fields without him.  Clark's soccer time was first and I had such a great time watching him.  They were teaching the kids stop and go and reverse direction drills.  By the end of the day I decided the older boys need to practice some of the skills they are teaching Clark :).

This was the first week they broke the little kids out into teams to play a scrimmage game.  It was a 4 on 4 game.  Clark is on the orange team.  The other team had scored a goal (no goalie) while I was getting my camera.  It was cool to see Clark hold his own on the soccer field!  He ended up scoring 2 goals!  It was awesome!  He even had a kid hanging on his shirt the whole time, but he just kept on trucking to the goal.  After the goals he would run to me give me five and a kiss!  What a sweet boy!  He ended up being the little star for his team.  A dad standing nearby mentioned that Clark has talent :).

Here are some fun pictures:

He even had a turn to kick off.

He looks so natural out there!

Maybe by the time he's 10 or 11 he really will be a soccer stud!  I guess it's lucky that he get's to start so young!

Perot Museum!

We went to the museum with our cousins.  They had tickets to get us in so we got to explore it for the first time.  For driving to downtown Dallas it wasn't really as scary as I thought it would be ;).

While waiting for our cousins we hung out on the frogs and other cool things.  Figured we could get some good pictures while waiting.

Lorna on the leap frogs :).  So cute!

Sandra and Grant leaping on the leap frogs!

Grant and Talmage - JUMP!

All the kids pretending they are on an airplane flying over the water and trying to hang on.  Too funny!

Clark with the frog

Talmage riding the frog.  This is after we read the rules about the frogs... no jumping on or off of etc. :(  We were breaking the rules and right as we were reading the rules a security guy was coming to tell us not to jump on the frogs.

Lorna sliding!

Clark on the awesome bench!

Once the cousins arrived we headed inside.  I didn't get everything, but here is a sample of the inside :).

The dinosaur floor.

In the weather area.  The kids are practicing doing the weather report on the blue screen with the tv above them showing what they looked like :)

While waiting outside for a drilling ride and learning about the drilling equipment.  The red thing in the background is called a Christmas Tree and sits on top of the well head.

In the drill ride, Lorna being cute

The last level we went to there was a small kid area and older kid area.  Tiffany ended up with the older kids and I had Clark and Lorna.  It was my favorite area... probably because it was so peaceful and I was only in charge of 2 kids :).  Clark LOVED the food area.  He would gather food, drop it from the farm truck and then restock the store.  I tried to get him to play in the truck, but he was so focused on the food he wouldn't leave it.  At the end he discovered the truck and then he was never going to leave the kid area.

Lorna also loved the truck!

There were big flowers for making patterns out of.

There was a water works station.  Clark also really liked the water and boats.

Pouring water was fun too!

There was a playground in the shape of Dallas skyline.  This whole area was really cool!

Lorna sliding!

Lorna going up the rock wall.

Clark finally discovered the truck.  He would have stayed there all day!

Tiffany has pictures of the kids in their area.  It was more sports themed and they raced dinosaurs and athletes and such.  I will post those photos when I get them.
It was a great day and we may have to get our own family passes :).

Soccer Dad!

We went to watch Jeff play soccer again a week ago.  It was a beautiful night and the kids were pretty good that I got to really watch Jeff play :).

Here are some of the shots I got:

I love this one.  He is really aggressive out there.  I just wish it wasn't so blurry ... action shot!

Love the sun behind the clouds and Jeff together!

Chasing down the ball.

Way to go Hunny!

Happy Easter!

It was a beautiful Easter Sunday :).  It was fun to take pictures of the girls in their pretty dresses!

Lorna Bug!  Just too cute and growing up too fast!

And full of personality!

Love her!

We made resurrection rolls with the kids.  The marshmallow is Jesus and he is dipped in oil (butter) and spices (cinnamon and suger) and laid in a tomb (crossaint roll).  The kids had fun preparing their Jesus marshmallow rolls!

Bug

We also had an Easter package from Grandma Whitmer.  The kids loved all of the fun surprises!  The little hopping bunnies and chicks were a huge hit!

Lots of cool toys!

What the rolls looked like when they were all baked.  I forgot to take a picture of the empty tomb.

We also watched some nice videos about Jesus and the resurrection.  It was a great day to be together and rejoice in the resurrected Jesus!

Camp out

Talmage had his second camp out with the 11 year old scouts.  It was on the same weekend as the speech competition so he didn't get to stay very long in the morning so we could get out to the competition in time.  The timing all worked out and well and Jeff even got to attend the camp out with him :).  Here are some pictures that Jeff took during the camp out:

Foil dinners

Dessert... smore's concoction made by the leader

taco style ;)

The boys all waiting to be taught how to sharpen knives and axes.

Talmage learning how to chop wood.  Putting the ax into action!

He even got to help with breakfast in the morning.  Talmage earned his Tenderfoot after this and is well on his way to earning his 2nd class and 1st class ranks.  Way to go Talmage!
