Containment

We have been working really hard on this 3/4 containment pasture!  Nathan and kids have been coming out to help and things have gone pretty quickly.  We are excited that it's almost time to welcome the bison!  So close now!

 

Fencing for Bison

We are counting down to getting buffalo on the ranch!  It's time to set up a small pasture to contain them when they first arrive.  It took a bit of planning and changing of plans, but we finally settled on the small area behind the little house.  The ground is pretty sandy and there's not many trees so digging holes should go well.  

Daddy got a new tractor attachment too!  We now have a front loader auger to help dig holes!  That went a ton faster!  We got about 40 posts set in one day with it.  It's so exciting to get the pasture fence done so the animals can arrive!  We are always grateful to have Uncle Nathan, Bree and Owen come help too!

While moving the metal roofing so we could set the posts a field mouse ran out.  Clark caught it so we could get a good look at it.  Oh, the friends we make on the ranch!

 

Double Date?

Grant had planned to go out on a date with Savanah Hull.  He arranged for Talmage to go as the double, but Talmage's date cancelled on him.  Sandra was kind enough to fill in... making it not really a date anymore, but still a fun time.  They went to an escape room in Fort Worth and grabbed some food from Arby's.  I'm glad Grant got to do his date, even if it wasn't quite how it was planned.  

 

Texas Snow!

It's been quite some time since we've gotten snow here in Texas!  Let's just say that this little bit of flurries was super exciting to us!  I let the kids "play" in it before we headed off to church.  It was so light that it didn't even stick to the grass.  It's funny how something so little can be so exciting to us Texans!  Oh, and we aren't used to these temperatures either - it was cold!

 

Chamas

Talmage and Grant work at Chamas Do Brasil.  They decided to go out to eat to enjoy the delicious food, instead of just serving it.  They took Sandra along too.  It's crazy when the kids can go out and spend lots of money on food and pay for it themselves!  Glad they had fun!

 

Ranch Day 2021

The first Saturday in 2021!  Back to the ranch!  It was a cold day!  Sandra was cute to take some selfies with me ;).  Good thing we got some cold weather gear for Christmas!
