Labor Day Progress!

Jeff was off for the holiday, so we went to the ranch!  Time to get the woven wire fence up!  Saturday the missionaries helped us and we got a few woven wire rolls done.  Today we got the rest run!  It is looking great!  Jeff made a set up for the tractor to hold the wire and unroll it as we go.  It worked so well!  I'm happy this is the fence between us and our neighbors!  It should also help keep their dogs on their property too!  

 

Family

Grandma, Grandpa and Clark were in a rearend accident on Friday the 26th.  Their truck is totaled, and the grandparents are pretty bruised up.  Nothing too serious, but lots of sore muscles and bruising.  They were planning to head home today, but they will need some time to recover before they can make the trip home.  Nathan, Tiffan and kids came out to visit.  It was great to see them.  The kids had fun playing games and the adults chatted.  

I hope the grandparents start feeling better soon!  It's no fun to be in a car accident!  

 

Picking up Chicks

The girls and I were on a mission to pick up lots of different items for the ranch projects tomorrow.  While at Atwoods the girls found their chicks!  The manager was kind and even let them pick them up.  I think they could have stayed there all day!  They were so cute!

 

Swim Party

Since moving to the country, the kids have really missed swimming.  I don't miss owning a pool, but it sure is nice to have when it's hot.  The homeschool group met up at the Martin's house for a swim day!  It was so fun!  I know my kids could have stayed all day!  Sandra even came to out to play.  Usually, she spends time working or doing her schoolwork.  Yay for cooling off in this hot weather!

 

Seminary Graduate!

Sandra graduated from Seminary tonight!  4 years of early morning seminary done!  She loved her teachers, Sister Acker and Sister Salter.  Way to go Sandra!

 

Fencing Again

We are getting going on pasture 4's last fence line area!  I cut down this tree that was in the way.  Then the kids helped put up t-posts and set up h braces.  Then we ran barbed wire on the line between us and the neighbor.  That should stop the other neighbor's cows from trespassing!

Also, the little calves are growing and so cute!  

 

44 Years Already!

My birthday fell on Saturday this year... ranch day.  It was a good productive day.  That night Jeff and I went out to dinner.  Everywhere was booked because of Mother's Day tomorrow.  We ended up at Braums which was great.  It's always nice to spend time together!  Sandra had made me a cheesecake so when we got home, we did presents and dessert with the kids.  It was a nice day!

 

Trouble Makers!

It may have taken a few days, but the bison sure left me a surprise!  They got into the riomax!  Oh man!  Such a mess and waste!  I think they messed up 6 bricks!  I guess bison can't be trusted when you let them roam the compound!  Total bummer!

 

Grandpa Help!

It's always great when Jeff's dad comes to town.  He is a great help on some of our projects!  He fixed a leaking pipe on our irrigation system.  Clark was his assistant.  They did a great job!  He even got power set up at the little house so we can use power tools easier when we start building. I love getting projects done!

 

Taking Over

We set up the main compound area so that we could let the bison in to graze down the grass.  It was crazy to show up the next day and have bison all over the place!  They nibbled the hay, but for the most part they were pretty good!  It's crazy to see them out and about!  We even let out our mini herd to eat the grass by the squeeze chute.  I will say they are good little mowers!

Oh, and we are making progress on the last line for pasture 4!  I got brace wire set up on some of the h braces!  Pasture 4 will be up and running before we know it!

 

Permitted!

Mhari got her permit!  Time to start the process of teaching driving to my teen all over again!  They really do grow up too quickly!  16 will be here before we know it!
