Shy Guy Halloween!

This year the kids came up with a group costume - Shy Guys, from Mario Cart.  They included friends too!  It was super fun to see all of the shy guys at the ward trunk or treat.  I'm grateful the kids have been able to make such great friendships here!

Poor Guy

Jeff hasn't been feeling well.  It got to the point that it was time to visit the Urgent Care.  He has an upper respiratory infection.  He's on medicine now, but it will be a few days before he gets feeling better.  He stayed home from church today and took a nap on the couch.  Clark turned it into some father son bonding time.  They are so cute!

I CAN do it!

We ended up with a lot of left over food from the food bank.  We shared with friends and family and still had a ton.  I decided it was time to learn how to can!  I started with the pears since they were ripening so fast!  It took all morning, but I got them canned!  A couple days later it was time to learn how to pickle cucumbers!  Everything turned out so good!

For being my first time canning it was a learning experience, but I'm grateful for some very helpful youtube videos to help me along!  Lorna helped out a lot with the cucumbers too.  It's always a blessing to learn I can do something I've never done before!

Happy Birthday

Jeff and I went to Burleson to celebrate Nathan's 50th birthday!  We were so busy visiting and having a good time that we didn't take any photos!  Oops!  Well, the Fort Worth Temple is almost completed so I did get a photo of that!  It's also Talmage's 23rd birthday today.  Time really does fly!  He's a great young man with great things ahead for him in his future!  Keep up the great work!  Lastly, buffalo, because why not :)

Serving Others

The East Texas Food Bank does a mobile food pantry.  The church is now hosting it once a month.  We haven't gone every time, but while school is in session we can go give extra support.  The kids have loved serving and doing it with friends is even better!  Our ward had a great turn out too!  What a blessing to serve others!

Fun Stuff

I cut open a watermelon and found swirls!  Kind of crazy.  It was the pattern of how it was starting to overripen.  I ended up feeding it to the chickens.

Speaking of chickens, ours have been laying so well!  The eggs are so beautiful.  It's so fun to have so many different colors!

One morning for seminary Clark and Zane were wearing the same shirt... so I had to sneak a photo.
Lastly, Lorna and Clark got their bottom brackets on!  The great brace race continues!

Trimmed

Jeff bought a lot of baseboard so we could start getting the house finished up.  After thinking more about it we decided we should start with the doors.  I got the inside of the exterior doors done today!  I will say it sure changes the look!  Soon enough no one will ever tell that we have been working on this house from scratch :).  I see many more doors in my future!

Temple Time

Another homeschool temple trip in the books!  This time we took Natalie and Tommie in our car.  The girls loved talking the whole way there and back.  It was fun to listen to :).  We then went to In and Out for lunch.  More fun friend time!  So grateful for such great friends to build these memories with!

Desk!

Jeff and I took a trip up to Arlington to clear out his office and set up a new one there.  We also took home his large work desk, credenza, file cabinets, and bookcases.  Once home the weather wasn't cooperating so we unloaded into the garage and waited until we were ready to move it all in.  I got the office painted and baseboard in so that was the last thing we were waiting on.... and we got it moved!  Jeff is still adjusting to the layout, but I think it will work out great.  The kids are exhausted and found plenty of places to lay down!  So silly!
