Hike Fun

During Spring Break we went with Tiffany and the cousins on a hike around Lake Worth.  We found the trailhead and headed out.  While hiking we had a hard time following the trail markers.  It wasn't long before we were lost!  We did manage to find our way out to the main road so we could walk back to the parking lot where we started.  Finding hiking trails isn't always that easy... and this reminds me of why I don't enjoy hiking where I've  never been before.  We were supposed to be down near the lake so when we headed out we drove down to a spot by the lake to hang out for a while.

Onto Lake Worth!

Soccer Fun

Little Lorna was so cute playing on her team!  She tries hard!

Mhari's team has been together for several seasons.  It's been fun to see her feel part of the team and improve her soccer skills too!

 Cute Clark!

One day all of the kids were outside kicking around a soccer ball with Daddy!  It was so cute to see them work on their passing skills!  It made a great view... even better than our lake view!

Happy Day

That day when you wear a shirt and stand next to your cousin and your mom starts laughing ;).  I love Ella's dinosaur eating the knight from Monty Python ;).  Seriously made my day!

The other thing that made me happy was getting the fridge put into the kitchen!  I got the back area painted so I could slide it in.  It was fun to show Jeff when he came home from work!

Spring Soccer

Spring has arrived and with it soccer season!  This year Mhari, Clark and Lorna are the only kids playing soccer.  I'm happy to lose at least 1 team and different location for games since the older boys aren't playing!  It is a little annoying that the younger teams all have different days with double headers so I still have 4 games each Saturday :(.  Oh well.  They are having fun getting back into it and learning new skills!  It is fun to see spring bloom while we spend so much time outside for practices and games.

Clark waiting for his turn to practice.

Lorna found a dandelion ready to blow.

Mhari on her field getting used to defense again ;)

Sandra playing with Clark while we waited for Mhari to get done.

Yay for spring, and for soccer!

Kitchen CABINETS!!!

We went through so many options when deciding who to go with to do our kitchen cabinets!  It was a crazy overwhelming experience... at least it felt like it at the time.  We tried Home Depot, Ikea, Cabinets to Go, and even making them ourselves.  Home Depot was too expensive, Ikea was too cheap (product wise) as was Cabinets to go.  We could make them ourselves, but that would take so much time, even if it was the best product for the cheapest price.  I'm starting to sound like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears now :).
We got a referral to contact Mike with Cabinet Concepts to do custom cabinets.  Not only were they cheaper cost than Home Depot, we were also getting like twice as many cabinets for less than our Home Depot quote.  Seriously crazy!  Mike came out in January to measure and was ready to install by the end of February!  We were completed by March 2nd!  Oh it is magic to have kitchen cabinets again!  They built the cabinets then the installers put them in.  After they were set the painters came and worked for several days!  They turned out so good!  Here are some pictures of the progress!

First day - installing the white oak cabinets!

They are so pretty!

All of the cabinets now in!

Time to go white!  The cabinets all went with a white stain!

Then added a dark glaze!  It really helps show the detail of the cabinets.

Finished!

So nice!

You can see the dark stained trim around the window and the shelf under the kitchen cabinets too!

So much storage in the dining room now!

Getting cabinets was a huge step forward to getting our kitchen functional!

Fashion Time

It's that time of year when 4-H Fashion competitions take over life for a while :).  The kids all did well and were able to take first in their county categories.  It's always helpful to not have any competition :).  Now on to District Fashion!

Grant - Everyday Wear

Mhari - Dressy

Sandra - Fantastic Fashions under $25

Talmage - semi-formal/formal
