Court Date

A year and a half ago I was rear ended with Sandra as my passenger.  Our poor Ford Fusion was totaled.  We worked with an attorney to seek damages from the accident.  The claim was finally settled, but Sandra had to go before the judge to finish her settlement.  It was very different to do this with her.  I testified about the accident, the judge asked her questions (which she wasn't expecting), and finally finished the settlement.  Glad that is over and there is no lasting damage from the accident!

Dancing Teens

Grandparents were in town for Owen's ordination.  We celebrated Bree's birthday that weekend and so while we were there the teens showed off some of the fun dance moves they have been learning.  It was so fun to see them working it out on the "dance floor" :)

Masquerade

This year we found  homeschool ballroom classes for the teenagers.  It was even being offered for free.  I got the teens there and Talmage loved it!  He made a special effort to be available for dance classes in January.  Once the daytime classes ended he started attending afternoon sessions and Friday night ones, when offered.

One of the fun things they do is put on balls, or different dances.  Talmage and Sandra attended the Masquerade Ball that was Victorian Era themed.  They had fun picking out their costumes!  It was fun to see them all dressed up.  Talmage had worked really hard on learning the Viennese Waltz so he could participate for that dance.  He learned it just in time.  I love to see them developing talents and the joy that it brings them!

2 eyes

Sandra has been wanting contacts for a while (like years).  She finally got her dream come true!  I must admit that I was really used to Sandra wearing glasses.  I think she's beautiful either way!  I know what it's like to really want contacts so I don't blame her for being so excited about this new opportunity in her life ;).

Stock Show!

Our Co-op took a field trip to the Fort Worth Stock Show.  It was a perfect day!  There were hardly any school groups!  We enjoyed seeing the milking demonstration, the animal education in the arena and the petting zoo.  It's always fun to get out and enjoy some great educational fun!  The kids love it because their friends come too!

Bison Ranch?!

We've been working to buy land for a while and I think we may be really close!  We found some land to go look at near Jacksonville, TX.  Jeff and I checked out a couple of properties with the realtor the week before.  After looking and seeing the amazing properties we decided on one that felt just right for us.  We put in an offer and it was accepted.  We took the kids to check it out!

While we were out, we visited our friend, Steve Unger, who has a bison ranch just down the road.  He even has animals he's trying to sell.  We drove out and got to get up close and personal with the animals!  The kids were in heaven!  Here's hoping everything moves along smoothly as we get closer to closing at the end of February!

First week checking out the Ranch!

Nap time

It's a new year so that means that we have a different time for Church.  We now attend at 10:30.  I think this may be the perfect time!  We go after breakfast (we even get to sleep in a bit) and get home around lunch time (12:30).  The best part is there is still time to sneak in a Sunday afternoon nap.  I love getting a little nap to keep me going, but seeing the 2 little ones nap is adorable!  First Sunday down and the first naps of the new year are too :).
