Building History

For our history study we did the Romans.  The kids got to make aqueducts!  It was tricky to get them not to leak.  Using gravity made a huge difference too!  I'm glad we are getting to learn some fun things with friends!

Ranch Visit!

Our friends, the Sagnimeni's, came out to visit us at the ranch!  It was so great to see them and hang out!  It was super-hot, but otherwise we had a blast!  We went and visited the bison and played in some water.  The kids also loved climbing all over the hay!  I'm so glad we can keep these friendships even though we now live over 2 and a half hours away from each other!

Happy 44!

It was Jeff's birthday!  We had fun celebrating with presents and a watermelon!  The years just keep marching on.  We love you, Hunny!

Roaming Free

Jeff, Mhari and Clark went to church camp, so Lorna was my buddy for the weekend.  She invited her friend, Claire, to come and do ranch chores with us.  It was a good day to come because we set up everything to let the bison out into the compound.  I love letting them eat the grass in the compound and not having to mow it ;).  Claire was a good helper and after chores we headed to Chick-fil-a for lunch.

Lucky 13

Clark is 13!  I'm not sure how it has already been 13 years!  Clark has sure been growing this year.  He is officially taller than me now!  It will be fun to see when Talmage and Grant get home if Clark is taller than them.  He is still kind and happy!  He is definitely a teenage boy.  He loves to question everything and make silly noises.  The next few years are going to go way too fast!  We love you, Bigness!

The last Calf

Our last calf of the season was born!  Our number 9 cow, Nadine, had her baby on June 16th.  We got a great photo of the adorable calf today!  We love our bison!

Brubakers!

Elder Brubaker came back to visit his mission with his family.  It is strange to just say Ian, and not Elder Brubaker though.  We invited them to dinner at the ranch.  It was hot, but the evening was cooling off, so it all worked out!  We did pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, and watermelon.  I think everything turned out great.  This was the time that Ian had to admit that he has a gluten allergy... and he never told us while he was on his mission!  Good thing they had gluten free buns.  It was fun to show them around the ranch and share some of what Ian had helped us with as a missionary.
The whole family was super sweet!  I'm so glad they came out for a visit and that we got to catch up a bit on Ian and his life!  Life just keeps moving along!

It was also Father's Day so we had root beer floats at church for the men and I made homemade sugar cookies for Jeff that night.  We shared those with the Brubakers too.
