Bluebonnet Beauties!

I had been meaning to take pictures of the kids with the bluebonnets, but the timing just never seemed to work out.  This is kind of late in the season, but I managed to get all of the kids together for the traditional Texas bluebonnet pics ;).  It had been a few years since we had done this with all of the kids, so yay for kids who let their mom torture them with flower photos!

Oh, and on our way to take photos I found these beautiful daisies!  I love daisies.... wish there was a Texas daisy tradition ;)

Comfy New Floors!

With the addition of the wood floors, comes the need for rugs.  Daddy and I went to check out some rugs at Ged's.  We found 2 for the living areas.  That means the furniture could be arranged and it could finally feel like we really are about done!  The rugs were nice and big and really soft too!  So soft that Jeff and the kids took plenty of time lying down testing them out :).  I love how much they cuddle on their Daddy!

Open House Fun!

At our Co-op this year the kids had lots of fun classes.  This was our first year to offer a choir and drama class.  It was fun to see the kids learn new things and get comfortable performing in front of a group.  Sandra, Grant and Talmage took drama and Talmage had choir.  Little Lorna even got to do a song with her kindergarten class. :)

Beautiful Wood!

We had ordered this flooring back in September.  It was actually the purchase that pushed us to get the kitchen done so we could put the floors in.  Ged's was so awesome to hold the wood for us.  It is 3/4 inch solid maple planks.  We got a great price and they are beautiful!  It was so great to finally have them installed!  It took 4 days to get the flooring in.  We had a lot of space to floor.  The only thing downstairs not wood is the kitchen, entry, and bathrooms.  The planks are only a few inches wide and glued down.  It was quite the job!  They used blue tape to help hold the planks tight while they set.  It was neat to see the wood fill the space!

The first area they did was the long hallway all the way to the master.  Once that line was established they were able to build off of it for all of the other rooms.

The beginning of the end...

We have finished the house renovations to where we can get floors installed!  Before the wood flooring arrives I took some photos :)  It's so exciting to get to the finishing part of a reno!  It's also amazing to see how far we have come!

Championship Game!

Clark's soccer team played for the championship game!  They played hard and came out with the win!  It was a hard season since this was a new team, but they all played so well!  Clark played so hard and loved playing offense, but was great on defense.  It was a great game and I was so proud of Clark and his team!

Yay!

Little Lorna had a fun game and loved getting her snacks!  Her poor team would rather have been twirling in skirts than kicking a soccer ball.  She worked hard, and played hard even if they never won a game.

Ward Campout!

Our ward reserved campsites at Cedar Hill State Park for the night.  It was a beautiful evening and the kids had a great time throwing rocks in the lake and hanging out with friends.  That evening there was a nice sing along with Brother Kelly.  In the morning we ate pancakes and then headed out to get Clark ready for his championship soccer game!  It made for a busy weekend, but really fun!  I loved watching the sun set while the kids tried skipping rocks!

Grant was happy to enjoy the food for dinner ;).

Beautiful Spring

The pool is ready for our beautiful spring and summer weather!  I feel like I've spent the last almost 2 years trying to figure out how to care for a pool.  I'm sure I'm jinxing myself, but I feel like I've made it!  After many trips to the pool store and replacing many pieces the pool is beautiful!  I plan on the kids spending a lot of time in our pool!

Also with spring comes 4-H.  Sandra competed in the musical portion of the Share the Fun event.  She took 2nd at county and will compete in district in May.
