Penned

Lizzy got spayed recently.  Unfortunately, her incision ended up getting infected.  We had to separate her from Darcy so that her wound could heal, without any extra licking!  We decided to build it right next to their original pen so that they could still hang out together, across the fence.  Hopefully this will be a temporary situation and her wound will heal quickly.
Also, it was time to get more feeder piglets!  We built out a new pig area in pasture 7.  They seem to be doing well so far!  It's always fun to have pigs on the ranch!

Everything is Terrible

Sometimes it seems as though everything is terrible.  Especially when you are a teenager... and a girl :). Poor Sandra was having a hard day.  Sometimes I just need to get some photographic evidence of the drama.  Also, it gives us something to look back at and laugh!  Oh, and it was a day of beautiful clouds, which makes everything better!

Park Fun!

It was another meet up with the Hulls day!  We love still trying to stay close, even though we moved even farther away!  This time we met in Canton at a cute little park.  The kids made funny videos and ran around playing frisbee golf and who knows what else!  Amanda and I got to enjoy our time catching up as well!  These years of having kids really are flying by!  I'm glad we get to do it with friends!

What Once was Lost

The mulcher finished clearing out the bottom of pasture 6.  It is a pretty dangerous area for us to navigate, yet alone mow.  Now we can see everything again!  It's pretty crazy how bad it got.  The bulls had played with a mineral feeder last year and lost it down in the lower area.  We retrieved it once, only for them to lose it again.  We decided that now that we could see we would look for the missing mineral feeder.  It was stuck in the creek and down under the brush!  We never would have found it if we didn't have it cleared out!  With the kids help, I was able to pull it out and reclaim it again for future use.

Older and Wiser

Well, I'm another year older.  I guess it just keeps happening!  This year I have struggled a bit with moving and not having certain things in my life.  I miss having my sister-in-law, Tiffany, help me with my hair.  I have looked into going back to the salon, but I just don't want to pay that much money.  After thinking about it and looking at YouTube videos, I decided it was time to take the plunge and do my own hair highlights!  I will say it wasn't perfect, but that's ok.  I am still learning and trying new things!
Jeff and I went out to dinner for my birthday.  It was nice to get out and feel cute with my new hair color :). The kids got me presents and Sandra made me a cheesecake.  It was a nice birthday!

Jacksonville Rodeo!

The Rodeo came to town!  This was our first time to go to the rodeo in the country!  Thursday nights are free so that was a win-win!  Lorna found a baby goat to meet.  The kids had fun watching the broncos and bull riders.  They didn't go chase the calves though.  It was pretty crazy to watch the kids in the arena with the animals!  It was a fun night!

Birthday Girl Party!

For Lorna's 10th Birthday she got to have a friend party!  She invited 3 girls to Urban Air Jump Park and then got ice cream at Dairy Queen!  Lorna had a fabulous time with her friends!  The girls are all homeschooled, so it was nice to get to go out before the evening crowds too!  Lorna is just growing up too fast!

Elder Again

It is time for Talmage to go back to Utah.  He is ready and excited to get back and serve!  It has been a learning experience together as he has been home.  We are so proud of the hard work he has done to get to go back out and serve.  It will be hard to have him gone, but we know he has other people to serve!

Fantastic

Mother's Day weekend was filled with date nights!  It was great to spend so much time together!  Jeff and I even got to see the new Fantastic Beast movie.  It was good!

Photo Op!

It is time for Talmage to head back to Utah to finish his mission.  We have just a few days before he flies out.  We decided to take some fun ranch photos of him before he left.  The Elders come over to serve on the ranch, so we invited them to join us for a photo shoot.  Let's just say that some of them were very surprised when the camera came out!  They were good sports and had fun taking photos with the hay (the only good lighting in the middle of the day).
We are so grateful for the Elders coming out to serve on our ranch!  We have gotten so much done with their help!  I know they have other work to do, but the time they serve us is so appreciated!  Thanks to our photo subjects:  Elder Kleinman, Elder Maisey, Elder Brubaker, and Elder Owens!

Date Night

Jeff and I went out to dinner together.  We took Talmage and Brynna Link out to Barnes and Noble and then dropped them off at Gateway to bowl.  During their bowling time Jeff and I went to Outback.  Unfortunately, the bowling was super busy, so Talmage had to call and have us pick them up and drop them off somewhere else for dinner (IHOP).  Jeff left me at Outback while he chauffeured them around and made it back in time for our meal.  It was a crazy night!  We were happy to help Talmage get to go out before it was time to report back to his mission.  We are glad he made a friend, even if it made things more complicated :)
