Boys Bathroom

With the house projects that needed updating, we worked on the boys' bathroom.  We stripped the ceiling of popcorn, retextured it, painted it, and painted the bathroom.  Grant and Talmage were great helpers to get this done.  It looks so much better now!  It's amazing how a few simple things has such a huge impact!

Not Done Yet

Now that the house has been on the market for a few weeks we have gotten some interesting feedback.  The downstairs gets lots of positive comments while the upstairs needs updating.  We were kind of bummed.  We've put a lot of work into the house, and we already gave an allowance for carpet for upstairs.  Well, Jeff and I walked upstairs and picked a couple of projects that we could do that would make a nice impact.
One of the projects was the deck coming off the toy room to the backyard.  The wood was rotted and really not looking good.  I decided to reseat the few loose boards and touch up the paint.  Well, after peeling up the board our issue was much more difficult that just securing a few boards and touching up paint.  We ended up doing all new deck boards and a whole new paint job.  While it was much more work, and money, it turned out very good!  Sandra, Grant, and Talmage were such good helpers!  I really appreciated not doing this job alone.  While I was at it, I also painted the bottom wood on the balcony.  Hopefully this will help the house sell!

Cute Kids

Clark bought a Snorlax with his birthday money.  It was smaller than he wanted, but he loves it!  Grant and Sandra had fun drawing their D and D story/campaign.  They are so fun!

Friends and Fun

With the laundry room done, Sandra found a new hiding place!  She's a silly girl!  Now that the house is on the market, we want to try to keep it clean, which means we are trying to stay out of it as much as possible.  We ended up at the Hull's house to hang out!  The kids love Savanah's bunny, Jam.  Grant and Savanah were happy to hang out together.  It was great to hang out with Amanda and try to distract myself from waiting for house viewings.  We did end up with a few viewings so that was exciting!

For Sale

It's official!  The house is on the market!  All of these crazy house projects have not been just for us.  We are selling the house so we can move out to East Texas.  Our goal is to move onto the ranch after we fix up a building (after renting a house for a bit).  It has been some hard work to get all of the things finished and the house in order, but it felt so good to get it done!  I think the house looks great!  It's kind of crazy to see the house for sale.

We have it listed at $799,999.  It seems a bit high, but the housing market is crazy right now.  We know we have a large house (over 5,000 sq ft) and they typically don't sell as quick or for as much per sq ft.  I guess that means we get to be patient.  So really, we are in a waiting game to see if our house will sell and how long it will take.  It doesn't quite feel real, and I'm really not looking forward to keeping it clean for showings!  Wish us luck!
