Halloween Night

The older kids were invited over to the Pool's house to trick-or-treat and watch a Halloween movie.  It had rained most of the day so it was nice that it cleared up for trick-or-treating!  The kids had a blast, even if the "movie" took way too long.  They had a pretty big group to go out with too!
The rest of us hung out at home and watched a movie while they were gone.

Poor Hunny napping and resting... his hobbies during chemo :(

Trunk or Treat Fun!

For Halloween our ward put on a Trunk or Treat with the 5th ward at the church building.  The YM and YW were in charge of some games.  Jeff worked with the YM and got the games set up and then went home to stay away from people.  The kids had fun trunk-or-treating, Sandra gave out candy and the boys ran bean bag toss and nerf shooting games.  It was a nice night.

Sandra was a Cereal Killer

1st Date!

The time for Talmage's first date arrived!  Kimmy drove and they met Preston and Carly at 6 Flags.  They each took turns picking rides to go on.  Talmage was even brave and went on the crazy rides.  I'm glad they had a fun time!  Welcome to the dating years!

Time to Tie!

Clark has had a hard time trying to figure out how to tie his shoes.  I've worked with him over the last few years, but it was something that just wasn't working.  It wasn't worth getting tying shoes for him, but that also meant he didn't have to practice.  Clark ended up with typing shoes and Daddy taught him how to tie them!  It was very cute to watch Jeff work with Clark.  The shoe laces are pretty short so it's going to take some time practicing.

Teddy Buddy!

We had a fun, Bring Your Teddy Bear to School Day, at co-op.  Bree, Mhari, and Lorna each brought a bear.

I brought my Thor bear too!  Yay, for Teddy Bear Buddies!

Wish I was a little bit Taller!

Grant has joined the "Taller than Mom" club.  He had passed me a little bit ago, but I thought it was fun to record it the same time Talmage passed me last year.  Grant is now 6 ft tall!  I know he's been waiting for this for a while.  Now he's chasing Talmage... and then Daddy!  I guess we will see who passes Daddy first!

I'm starting to feel a little short :)

Whaley Whaley

Nathan's birthday was earlier this month, but we didn't get together.  I found this little whale and knew it was the perfect gift for Nathan.  I stopped by to pick up the boys and gave Nathan his present.  It was funny to watch the whale sit on Nathan's fuzzy head!

The whale is breaching!

16 Years!

Happy Birthday to Talmage!  16 years ago you were our tiny baby, and now you are old enough to date and drive (when you get your license).  This year Talmage wanted a fun game, zombie stuff, and a sarcastic t-shirt.  It was fun to find presents and see him enjoy opening them!  The cousins gave Talmage a Waldo shirt and hat that he wore to the Halloween dance the weekend before.  He really enjoyed wearing his new hat :)

 Dark chocolate... yum!

The sarcastic t-shirt :)

The last present... He read it outloud and I asked him what it was... he said it was a date.  I said, yup!
I got a double date together (with help from Grant and Sister Pool) to go to Fright Fest at 6 Flags.  Talmage went with Kimmy and Preston went with Carly.  Talmage was so surprised!  It was fun to see him excited about his first date!

Talmage with all of the presents!

He asked for a lava cake ... but it was so hot it melted his candles.  We couldn't even get them lit before they melted.  Guess we know better than to do a lava cake for a birthday :).

Talmage is growing up so fast!  He is finishing up his last year of High School and should be starting at TCC in the fall.  He is enjoying learning to drive and is excited to get a job and start dating.  Time is going to fly and he will be gone before we know it!

Grandma and Grandpa came to town to be here when Talmage was ordained a Priest.  He was ordained Sunday the 21st at our house by Daddy, Grandpa, and Bishop.  Sunday the 28th Jeff made it to church to be there for the first time Talmage blessed the sacrament.  It was sweet to see them up at the table together!

More Chemo

Jeff finished week 1 of round 2.  Chemo is not getting easier. Jeff wasn't feeling well and took longer to recover than it did the first round.  He's so sweet when he naps.  Hoping he feels better soon!

General Conference

We hung out at home and enjoyed General Conference.  The exciting change to 2 hour church was made this conference.  The kids enjoy coloring and listening (and cuddling).

Mhari loves to look up the songs we sing.

Sandra made some delicious Viennese whirl cookies to share.  She's had fun watching the Great British Baking show and saw the cookies on there.  They turned out really well too!

Cronuts!

After I made the donuts someone posted a recipe for cronuts for me to try.  I had Sandra help and we made some yummy cronuts... which are a mix of a croissant and donut.  They were very tedious to make, but they tasted delicious!

National Night Out

The kids and I went to the National Night Out party at the park.  There were bounce houses and a basketball bounce house game.  Grant had fun playing basketball.  Mhari, Clark, and Lorna played in the bounce houses.  The FFA kids were there with their animals and Talmage spent time visiting with them.

There was yummy food too!

backwards shot!

The library was out with fun puppets to play with.

The also had large connect 4 and Jenga.
