Tile Time

We finally got the tile done in the master bath, hall bath, and laundry room.  It was a huge change!  I can't believe it took us so long to do it.  Tile is expensive, so really, I know why we waited, but it looks so good!

Laundry Wall

With the wall framed out, the kids and I dry walled, mudded, and textured it!  Grant and Talmage were great helpers!  It's getting so close to being amazing!  I'm so happy this is coming together!  It is also nice to have a new light in the laundry room!

Backyard Paradise!

The flowerbed that was overgrown is all finished!  It looks so good cleaned up and filled with mulch!  All of the other flowerbeds are cleaned up and the finished pool really finishes the look.  It's so nice to have a pretty backyard! (We just have to keep the grass from coming back in the flower beds.)

Youth Conference

Our youth in Arlington 3rd Ward did a day Youth Conference at the park near our home.  It was focused on putting on the armor of God.  They made armor and did a Nerf gun war.  Then there was lunch and a swim party at our house with a spiritual thought at the end.  There was a great youth turn out and it looked like everyone had fun!  Yay for youth bonding experiences!

Older and Wiser

Jeff celebrated another birthday!  We waited to celebrate until Saturday after the ward youth conference.  Here's to many more amazing years!!  We love you!

Guest Bath

Another project that has been ignored... The Guest Bathroom.  It was the last remaining yellow in the house.  Let's just say there was a lot of yellow!  It was easy to ignore this bathroom because it rarely got used.  It was definitely time to paint it out and make it look nice!  Sandra was so nice to paint it for me while I worked on other projects!  She did a great job!  Just to refresh your memory we have before and after shots ;).

Pool Coping!

Some of our pool coping stones have been loose for a while.  I decided it was time to take them out and reset them around the pool.  That was a bit scary.  After Sandra pulled of the "loose" stones it was over half the stones!  I was a bit terrified to get them all back where they belonged and set level.  After clearing out the debris, I mixed up a mortar and we started setting the stones.  They looked pretty good, but then it was time to start redoing the grout.  That part wasn't able to blend so I had to regrout all of the stones to make sure it all blended.  If the grout was still there, I just added a new layer of grout on top.  It seemed to work.

The last step in the coping stone project was to caulk the line between the stones and the cool decking.  It took way more caulk than I thought!  I ended up clearing out 3 Home Depots around me to get enough caulk (in the same color).  By the end of caulking, I had it down to a system with my two helpers, Sandra and Mhari.  They took turns squeezing the caulk (man that stuff is hard to squeeze) and I would come behind them with damp paper towels to smooth and clean up the caulk.  I'm so happy with the way it all turned out, but that was a lot of work!  Our pool is really looking nice now!

Diving Time

These house projects just keep coming!  After breaking the diving board, the first summer we moved in, we have been trying to replace it without any success.  I finally found a company that would install our new board (that I've had for a year or two).  They said they were going to cut out the cool decking and set the new board in cement, but after evaluating the project decided to bolt it directly to the cool decking, no new cement needed.  I think that was the hang up for us... to cement it in or just bolt through the cool decking.  It only took the guy a few hours and we are so glad it's done!

Our pool looks so good now!  The kids were so excited to break it in!

Baby Bison!

New baby Bison to brighten your day. So tiny.

Jeff

Best Daddy!

Jeff has been helping get the laundry finished!  He framed out a new wall so we can finish up the project!  I'm so excited!  It was also Father's Day, and it was great to let him know how much we love and appreciate him!  He is the best Daddy!

Balcony Curb Appeal

After putting up the new slats on the balcony, it seemed the gapping was still too large between the slats.  I decided to get some thinner pieces to put between to fill the gaps.  I think it turned out great, if not even better than my original plan.  I finished up the trim around the slats too.  It's all finished!  I love the way it looks with the flags out too!  Definitely upgraded the curb appeal!

Pasture 7

After a few months of hard work fencing pasture 7 is open and the animals are switched over!  It is amazing to watch them nibble down all of this amazing grass!  They explored the whole perimeter of the pasture to learn where their boundaries are.

Unfortunately, with the pasture switch over we had a few babies popping out of the fence!  It was quite a bit terrifying, but we got them back in.  We decided to come back out and run more barbed wire on the bottom to help the babies not get pushed through the fence.  The kids were great helpers and we got it done in a few hours.  They came to see what we were up to ... if you can see them behind me in the one photo. Hopefully now we won't have any animals where they don't belong!
