Punkin fun

I went to say good-night to the kids and found Mhari asleep in the middle of writing in her journal.  I love that my big girls keep journals.  So precious!

Mhari went to the movies with her Sunday School class.  I know she had a great time.  I'm glad she has a teacher that loves her class and wants to spend time together outside of class.

Cheddar's YUM

We try to eat out once a month, usually the Saturday before Fast Sunday.  We took the kids to Cheddar's for some good food at pretty good prices.  Talmage had been out at work, but met us in time to eat and then run off to work again.  Talmage is working at Baskin Robins scooping ice cream.  Grant has a job too that he took over from Tanner Greenwood.  It's a lawn mowing business and he mows lawns every weekend.  It brings in good money, but it is hard hot work (that he really doesn't like doing).

The waiter was super fun so that made the dinner even better.  Daddy was being silly so I got some good pictures of his faces :).  Clark also ordered a normal size hamburger... which was huge, but he ate it all!  Fun memories!

Mom's Night Out

I hosted our Mom's Night Out for August.  We did a painting party.  It was so fun and our lady did a great job teaching us and helping us when we had issues... which we all had issues :).  I loved seeing how everyone's paintings turned out.. they were all good and yet unique!

Such a great night and great ladies!  Pamela, Christina, Neelam, Amanda, and me :)

Sunday Afternoon

I love watching my kids.  Sometimes it's fun to sneak pictures of every day life.  Here's some black and white fun of just a normal Sunday afternoon.

Pull up a stool

Jeff and I finally went out and found bar stools for our huge island!  We got nice sturdy ones that fit adult size people.  It looks so great to have chairs up to the island now.

I love that they can all sit up to the bar!

Where the Sidewalk Ends

My kids love Shel Silverstein poems.  I was able to buy Where the Sidewalk Ends from a friend and the kids were so excited!  I love watching them fight over the book... and then read the poems out loud to each other.  Of course our copy of The Light in the Attic came out also.

Talmage discovered the Twilight series ... we will see if he reads it all or not.

First Day

We had our first day of Co-op for new school year!  The kids love all of their classes and really loved getting to see their friends.  It's always so funny to me to see how much co-op wears out the kids!  We are at a new location this year and we have lost several families so that's a bit different.  I think the new location is working out well so that's great.
Grant is taking book club, essay writing, and kick boxing.  Sandra has general science, photography, and ASL.  Mhari has anatomy, root words, crochet, and art.  Clark has land animals, snack prep, grammar, and art.  Lorna is taking instruments, munchi math, science experiments, and art.  We have some awesome moms teaching which make for awesome classes!

The kids are so cute when they are worn out!

Grant was exhausted!

Back to School

We started another year of homeschool!  We switched up some curriculum so we will see how the kids like it.  We are trying The Good and the Beautiful language arts for Sandra and younger.  I love how it combines geography, spelling, grammar, and art.  I think that will help the kids understand those subjects better too.  Everyone was ready to get back to the grind so that was nice.  I enjoy teaching the kids when they are excited to do their work.

Talmage started classes at TCC over the summer and is now a full-time fall student.  He is on track to get his associates degree at the end of next year fall.

Grant is finishing up his last year at home before he joins Talmage at TCC.

Sandra starts seminary this year and will graduate in 3 to 4 years (depending how early she moves onto TCC).

Mhari is in 6th grade and doing well with her subjects.

Clark is in 4th grade and keeps improving.

Lorna is in 2nd grade and growing up so quickly!

This is going to be a great year with so much to learn!

Naptime

Sunday afternoons are the best time for naps.  I definitely still love a good Sunday nap!  Such precious memories!
