Walls!

Work keeps progressing!  More walls are going up inside the house.  Talmage and Grant are a great help!  We put up the 12ft wall between the family room and dining room.  Then we worked on the wall for Jeff's office.  Everything is really coming together.
I have these beautiful cowboy boots that I don't wear anymore since they don't seem to fit.  I offered them to the girls.  Lorna was the lucky girl who could get her feet into them!  Hopefully she can get good use out them and her feet don't outgrow them!

Broken Deere

I was doing more branch/log clean up at the ranch, when the tractor stopped working.  I could not figure out what was going on!  The Smiths were there helping so they did their part of investigating while I talked to Jeff to figure out a solution.  Jeff called around and talked to a John Deere mechanic who gave him a good direction to go.  Looks like we blew the fuse to the 4x4 because of the dangling wires under the tractor.  We located the fuses and Scott loaded in a new fuse and we were good to go!  It was crazy to be working with the tractor and suddenly not have it engage in gear any more!  So happy it was such an easy fix!

Crazy Clouds

While we were working at the ranch this crazy cloud system moved through.  It was kind of freaky, but also super cool.  Definitely amazing to be up on the hill and so close to the clouds!

Baptism Trip

Before the boys went up for school we planned a baptism trip to the temple.  It was so great to have Talmage and Grant with us.  I especially loved watching them baptize each other.  It's always nice for Clark to have nice tall strong baptizer for him too!  We missed Sandra and Jeff tho :(.

Summer Vacation!

Over the summer I took a trip with my friend Savannah to visit the Bakers at their Colorado property. We got to earn some money by helping clear some brush and low hanging branches. We also rode horses, went camping and watched the storms roll in from the front porch every afternoon.
After the Bakers, my plan was to stay with Uncle Paul and Aunt Karen for a couple days before going back home to work. Getting consistent hours at Cafe' Rio was difficult and was getting on my nerves, so I decided to stay with Paul and Karen for an extra week. My cousins and I decided to have a park day! It was a blast and so much fun. I'm so grateful for the extra time I got to spend with them.

Popped!

We drove down into pasture 5 to check on the bison and look for any new calves.  As we were driving we heard a quick rush of air sound.  A cut off root jabbed into the tire wall and popped the tire.  It was flat instantly!  Good thing Jeff and Clark were there to take care of it!  Changing a tire in the pasture is not nearly as easy as on asphalt.  Guess driving in pastures is going to be off limits until we get them cleaned up from all the debris from logging.

Hay Day!

We got some hay from our friend, the Hay Lady (Evie).  Since Jeff was working, I got to unload the hay.  I lined it up so it could get stacked under the pavilion.  It always feels nice to have more hay on hand.  We never want to run out for our Buffalo!

Closer Looks

Getting a closer look at the h-brace the loggers hit.  It's pretty messed up.  Hopefully they come back and fix it!
I got to trim the rafter boards on the patio.  I think they turned out pretty good!  Now we can finish up the front board and then roofing!

Exhausted

Grant was exhausted... nap time!  Talmage cuddled in for the photo.  Working at Crumbl and working at the ranch on Saturdays sure tire a guy out!  This was Grant's last week at Crumbl though, so I guess he's prepping to catch up on more sleep :).
Also, Mary looks like she should be exhausted.  I thought for sure I would get to see her birth her calf, but she didn't calve yet.  Maybe tomorrow!  I've never seen a bison with that much puffy on their back end!  So crazy!

More Work

Another day picking up branches, YAY!  Well, even if no one said "yay" at least we got more work done.  This time we were in Pasture 6.  It took quite a few trips to get it done and I definitely wore all of my workers out.  The pile on the trailer was so tall!  Having Talmage in the pile sure shows the mound we were piling!
We also have been hard at work on the porch!  We are getting it all framed nicely.  It's looking so good!
