Grant and Talmage are back up in Idaho for school. However, Grant just got a new calling, 2nd Counselor in the bishopric. That means he gets to be ordained a High Priest. We took a super fast trip up so Jeff could ordain him. We drove for 24 hours from Friday night to Saturday night to get to our hotel. We met up with the boys to visit and help with a grocer shopping trip. Then back to the hotel for the night.
The next morning we met with the stake presidency member and Grant's bishop for the ordination and setting apart. It was a really cool experience. Jeff and I hung out and visited with the stake presidency member while Grant went to his morning meetings. Through all of the discussion something he said stuck with me. He said that the gospel isn't addictive. You have to choose to do it everyday. I love that. Satan wants us to be addicted to anything and everything. He is still trying to take away our agency. Yet, every day we can choose to follow Jesus Christ and live his gospel. It's not easy, but that's how we will learn!
We attended Grant's ward and got to see him serve in his calling. It was cute watching him greet the ward members and sit up front with the bishopric. After church (with Sandra, Talmage and Cami) Jeff and I headed over to Sandra's apartment to visit and meet Nathan (my turn). It was a nice evening and we had a good time with everyone.
After our visit we were on the road again for another long journey home 24+ hours! I drove about 10 hours during the journey, while Jeff drove the rest. The hardest part was finding food in the wee hours of the morning. We finally found something at a Buckee's in Colorado. That was one amazing brisket sandwich! We are so glad we went, but that is a drive we don't want to do again any time soon! We are thankful our merc made the trip without any complications!
