Stoned

Jeff's back had been hurting and after researching symptoms we were pretty sure it was kidney stones.  We went to the Dr. and he did some tests.  He prescribed some medicine and sent us on our way.  He did tell us that if the pain got worse to go to the hospital.
That night Jeff was not doing well at all.  We headed to the hospital around midnight.  They did a CT scan and got an IV running and some pain meds.  The results of the scan didn't show any kidney stones, but instead a mass on Jeff's lymph node in his lower back.  He was told to follow up with his urologist considering his past history with testicular cancer.  Well, that's not good news.  I guess we will see what is going on, but Jeff is finally feeling better so that's good.
We spent the whole night in the hospital.  Let's just say we needed some rest to recover from that!

Cute Girls

Mhari's activity girls met at the park this week.  They had decorated rocks and went to hide them on the walking paths for people to find.  While they hid the rocks Clark and Lorna played on the playground.  Lorna found this star to get a picture with.  Of course Mhari had to join in the fun ;).

Toothless!

Time to retire Gus and get a new family vehicle.  Gus is great and all, but at some point I'm worried about being stranded, or just his repair bill can be scary.  I found a couple of Expeditions and settled on one nearby.  We went to buy him and finished it up on Monday night.  I'm happy to have a big vehicle that doesn't feel so big and handles more car-like.  Welcome to the family, Toothless!

Cute Baker

Sandra decided to make us dessert tonight!  It is so great that she can read a recipe and make things for us!  She made snickerdoodles and they were really good!

We love our little Chica baker!

Backsplashing!

We finally got our backsplash installed!  It was tricky to find one that we both liked and that went well with our countertop.  I think we looked at 5 different places!  Hopefully this goes well and will still feel very classic as time goes on.  We wanted something that was unique... so classic and unique, if that's a thing ;).

It was cool to see the installers start by cutting all of the pieces to fit.  Once they were all prepped they started installing.  There was a spot where they installed it upside down, but we caught it and they fixed it.  This pattern is kind of tricky that way!  They came back and grouted the next day ... 2 days of work and the kitchen is so close to done!

Here is the process ;)

Cutting and laying out the tile

 And it's up!

 It's so exciting

You can get a good feel for the counter with the backsplash too :)

 Time to grout!

 All filled in!

Finished!

Sleeping Beauties

Kids are so cute when they sleep!  I love finding them napping and taking pictures to keep forever... it also works as good blackmail some day too :)

I went to wake up Sandra and this is how I found her.... I'm not sure how that is comfortable, or even possible!  Silly girl!

Sometimes all you need is a nap!  Bug, Dog, and Grant

6 year old Bug!

Our cute little Lorna turned 6!  I can't believe she's already 6.  I'm not sure kids are allowed to grow up so fast, but I guess no one asked me.  She had been so excited for her birthday and so ready to be 6.  Maybe it was all of the presents and cake that made it so exciting ;).  Here she is enjoying her big day!

Such a big girl now!

Opening present fun!

Daddy sharing in the fun :)

A cute new animal to love ;)

Plus her very own pink piggy bank!  She was so excited!

Lorna and her presents!

Cake time!

Make a wish!

Lorna is really growing up. She is learning in school and really interacting well with her siblings.  She loves animals and pink things.  She is a sweet girl and she loves her friends!  We love our Lorna Bug!
