Finishing touches

It sometimes takes me a while to finish a project... OK, like every project.  We painted the boys room forever ago and I wanted to add some trees to their dark blue wall.  I found some cool trees on clearance at Target so now I just had to put them on the wall!  We finally got around to doing it and rearranged the boys room a bit at the same time.  I have some more trees that I had for the girls room, but we painted their trees instead... so I could add more to the boys room if we want.  Well, it's done for now anyway :).

Here are the fun trees with some birds in the boys room!

The boys wanted all of their beds on the same side of the room.  Now they have a huge area to play!  They definitely use the play space too!

Exhausted!

Yesterday we had our District Fashion Show!  The kids each did well and it turned into a really long day.  There was a storm that pushed through in the morning that delayed the start of the competition.  We were stuck in terrible traffic because of the flooding roadways!  Luckily Tiffany was kind enough to watch Clark and Lorna for me since I ended up having to help be a group leader at the competition, so at least they didn't have to suffer with us.  We didn't get home until almost 7 pm that night.  We are usually home by 4 or 5 at the latest.  We were all exhausted!

The next day everyone was still recovering....

Sometimes it's the every day stuff that we forget.  I know after a day like that I needed a nap!

Fashion Show!

We had the 4-H district fashion show!  It was a crazy morning with bad weather and flooding, but we made it.  The kids were not the most enthused.  I think by April we are pretty exhausted and a 4-H competition is just extra work at this point.  Even with that they all did well!

Mhari was in junior buying dressy and got 3rd.

Sandra was in junior construction refashion and she got 3rd

Talmage was in intermediate buying semi-formal to formal and got 2nd

Grant was intermediate buying everyday living.  He got 2nd.

Love our sweet bunch of 4-H kids!

Sharks, Attack!

Talmage and Grant were on the Sharks soccer team.  There were only 3 teams in their division so they often had to play double headers.  That made the season over quick, and pretty intense!  The boys both worked hard and the coach said they had improved.  Being a new team they didn't win, but maybe they will have more luck in the fall if they stay together.  It is always fun (stressful) to watch the kids play!

Grant was on offense this year.  Here he is about to kick off.

Talmage was goalie.  He did well, but he had some back pain so some games were better than others.

Stretch it out!

It is fun to watch Jeff get ready for a soccer game.  I don't take enough photos so I got him while he was stretching ;).  We don't want any pulled muscles or injuries!

Filtering out the junk

Talmage, Grant, and Sandra are in Earth Science with Tiffany this year.  They have learned so much and really enjoyed it!  I ended up being Tiffany's helper 2nd semester and got to see the teens work and do their experiments.  For this experiment they each built their own water filtration system and then had to keep filtering their water to see how well their filter worked.  It was fun to see what the kids came up with and how well some of the filters worked!

Bluebonnet Beauties!

I took the youngest 3 out to do bluebonnet pictures!  I keep meaning to get the kids photos updated, but time just keeps slipping away.  The park right by our house has these beautiful bluebonnets and its right by the pond too.  It made for a great backdrop.... beautiful bluebonnets and beautiful kids!

Growing up!

Clark!  - such a cutie!

Lorna!

I'm not sure she's allowed to be this grown up!

Seriously love these cute kids and grateful they still don't mind me taking their pictures :)
