Closed In

The OSB is up, and the house is closed in.  Now to try to keep it dry until we get the roof on!  We are really trying to avoid water damage.  Here's hoping the roof moves along quickly!

Fixed?

The tub is still not fixed.  At least that's what we thought after the plumbers came by and told us not to use it.  I checked in with our landlord and he said the plumbers told him it was fixed.  This was a week ago!  So, we are supposed to try it out and see if it works.  Luckily it worked and we are back to a two-tub family!  Guess the communication part needed a bit of work though!
Here is the patch job the plumbers did after checking to see if the tub was leaking from the faucet or the base.

Closer

House is getting closed in... more.  Not quite done yet, but getting there ;)  Another great Saturday working on the house!

Berry Pick'n Season

Tis the season to pick dewberries, fa la la la la, la la la la...
Well, that's maybe not the actual song, we sure have a lot ripening on the ranch.  The kids have loved picking them while we are there working.  I decided to go berry picking with the kids today.  We came home with so many dewberries.  They look and taste a lot like black berries, but they are smaller and ripen earlier in the season.  I made two batches of jam and one batch of syrup.  It was a great day!

We've all missed homemade jam!

Closing Time

Having Talmage home has been great so far!  He's available to help with the ranch projects!  We finished closing in the carport siding and started on the house siding!  It's great to get this house moving along!  Talmage won't be here for too long, but we will teach him all we can while he's here!  Thanks to all the kids for making this happen as quickly as it did!  Clark and Lorna are always there and that is a huge help!

Curbed it

This is the second time I have hit a curb with a metal band on it and blown a tire.  This time we were prepared.  The kids had recently helped change a tire on Pepe so they were all hands-on deck!  Talmage was great support and learned a lot too.  It didn't take too long, and we were back on our way to the ranch.  So thankful for the kids and their help jumping in to change the tire!  Now to go back to the tire store and get the broken one replaced.

Homecoming

Talmage spoke in church today.  My brother Joe and his family and Jeff's brother Nathan and family came out for the talk.  He did a great job.  After church we gathered for some finger foods and visiting.  It was great to catch up with everyone.  The kids especially enjoyed time with cousins.  Those boys sure are tall!  Family is such a blessing!

Good-bye Chica

Saturday morning, super early, we headed to DFW airport, so Sandra could catch her flight.  It was nice to have the car ride to enjoy chatting.  We got her there in time for her flight, but there was a storm moving through too.  Her flight was delayed a bit, but luckily, she made it to Salt Lake with enough time to catch the shuttle to Idaho.  It was a long travel day, but she made it safe and sound to her new apartment that night.  We love you Chica girl!

Family Photos!

We only had a day and a half of togetherness before Sandra was flying back to Idaho.  Luckily, we worked it out to do family photos on Friday night.  Sandra did everyone's phots (Grant took hers) and set up the camera for the family photos.  They turned out so good!  It's such a blessing to have a photographer in the family :).  She did a great job!  It's so nice to have a new family photo!  We have changed a lot in 2 and a half years!
