Hello Snow!

Just when we thought all of the weathermen were crazy for saying we were going to get more snow, it arrived!  It just kept coming down!  It had started as ice, but then a nice 2-3 inch blanket of snow covered the ground.  It was so beautiful!  I really loved taking photos of the beautiful snow!

The kids really enjoyed playing in the snow!  I think if we lived somewhere with snow we could survive.  We just need a lot better snow gear before that could ever happen!

Here is the front yard!

The ice in the gutter

The kids had a great time playing follow the leader.  They ended up down by the creek (right by our house) and each jumped across it.  Mhari was the leader ;).

Talmage's turn

Then the boys helped Clark across!  It was so adorable to watch!

Then we all played in the amazing snow!  It was so deep!  The little slope down to the creek made a great sledding hill!  Oh, and we had a good snow ball fight too!  Talmage got me good.  Then I got him before it was time to go in.  :)

Clark throwing snow!

During the craziest snow time of the week Nathan and Tiffany drove down to hang out with us.  It took them over 2 hours to get to our house when it usually only takes about 20 min.  Traffic was terrible and the snow was just coming down.  By the time they got to our house the kids had a few hours of play time before it was time to head back home.  Luckily the drive home was much better!  The kids loved having their cousins to share the day with!

Here is Owen sliding down the hill.

Sandra, Grant, Clark

Jeff spent some time that night clearing off the driveway so the snow wouldn't refreeze into black ice.  Sandra went out to help.  Clark also wanted to help shovel the driveway.  This is what Texans use for a snow shovel... the real deal :).

 More snow sliding fun!  Grant

The day the cousins came to play they spent time and made up skits for us.  This is a photo of the whirlpool one.  They are so silly!

I'm glad we got to enjoy our winter, even if it was a little late this year.  Plus, with it being a Texas winter it really didn't stay around for very long.
